Summit '09 - Discussion
Thu Mar 27, 2008 12:04 am by mor'taH tSepeS
Several have made mention that they would like an very different set of scenery for next years Summit, and have asked whether the Gunslinger would consider hosting it in El Paso, Tx.

Yes, I said El Paso. It is a long drive, but we do have a few neat things to offer: the Rodenberry Planetarium, tons of Old West history (Rosa's Cantina - for you M. Robins fans, is a real place - in fact it's where he wrote the song) great sight-seeing from the mountains, Mt. Christo Ray has dino-fossils for those geocache types, and some of the best Missions on the Rio Grande. We even have a halfway decent Zoo here!

I'm sure we could find a schedule that everyone would like ... but .....
First things first: I would really want to know how many ships/people would be willing to come out this far for a summit. And if so, should we add a day for those that can make it, so that it's worth the trip (how many would want to take advantage of that, as well?)

Anyway, this is a feeler, to gauge how much interest there is in Region 3 to do something so far away from the normal venues .... how about it, is there strong enough interest for us to start the process?
